Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world – Nelson Mandela

MHRD, Government of India conducted a sample survey to identify out-of-school children through IMRB-SRI in year 2009 and estimated 81.51 lakh (4.28%) out-of school children in the country in the age group 6-13 years. It is

estimated that in Maharashtra there are 2, 07,345 (1.27%) out-of- school children

Having a strong foothold in the rural parts of Shirampur since the past 50 years, SMDT is addressing the revival of government (Zilla Parishad) schools. We believe that there is a huge infrastructure at the disposal of the state and if

put to best use, it will definitely help in inclusive education. TI-SMDT has started computer education (NIIT n-guru) and earn-while-you-learn programs for over 750 school children in its school at Tilaknagar..

Donate and help us reach out to more rural children and educate them with modern facilities and infrastructure.

Our Work :

While working in the villages for over 6 decades, one thing has presented itself clearly. Education is the route to change in a society, it not only empowers children to a better future but also improves the attitude towards each other,

the lack of which creates narrow minded, selfish individuals and society. As such, we run two Schools – Dahanukar Vidyalaya, Tilaknagar (DVT) and the Dahanukar English Medium School (DEMS). Both schools have been running

in Tilaknagar, Shrirampur for 64 and 34 years respectively and cater to the children from nearby villages.

The Dahanukar Vidyalaya, Tilaknagar is a pioneer in computer education in the state and runs an NIIT computer training center for its children. Children from poor families have the option of “Earn While Your Learn” to help them

access computer education. Weekend cultural events are conducted under the “Sampraday” program initiated by the trust with an aim to expose the rural children to the varied cultures of our country.
